Handing Over Of Sungai Deka Elephant Conservation Center In Terengganu
2 June 2016 –The Sungai Deka Elephant Conservation Centre Terengganu development project was handed over by the Department of Drainage and Irrigation (DID) to PERHILITAN at a ceremony held on 2 June 2016 at the site. The ceremony of handing over the completed development project which covers an area of 100 hectars was officiated by Deputy Director-General II, Mr Fakhrul Hatta Bin Musa and JD Hulu Terengganu, Puan Wan Norshuhada binti Wan Khairuddin. The ceremony was witnessed by PERHILITAN Director-General, YBhg. Dato’ Abd Rasid bin Samsudin and DID Deputy Director-General II, YBhg. Dato’ Ir Hj. Mohd Abdul Nasir bin Bidin.
The ceremony was followed by a site visit around the centre’s offices, barracks and Elephant Restraining Device (ERD) to be used for elephant treatment. Officers from PERHILITAN Headquarters, Terengganu State Office from both departments and contractors involved in this project were also present
