CROCODILE RESCUE OPERATION AT AN ABANDONED MINE IN SEMENYIH, SELANGOR
Following a facebook post on the presence of 3 crocodiles at an ex tin-mining area near Nirvana Memorial Park, Semenyih, Selangor which went viral on 7th Feb 2017, several officers from PERHILITAN Headquarters and Selangor State went to investigate the claims on site and found the complaints were valid.
A rescue operation was then carried out by PERHILITAN personnel assisted by the Fire and Rescue Department Semenyih and the Malaysia Civil Defence Force (APM) Bangi.
Only one crocodile approximately 4 feet long was found in the pond.
The crocodile was taken to Paya Indah Wetlands to be released in the Crocodile Pond. Search and monitoring efforts are continued in the area.
