Department of Wildlife and National Parks Peninsular Malaysia (PERHILITAN) in collaboration with the Workers Union of PERHILITAN organized the 3rd Expert Lecture Series Program this year with a theme ‘History for a better future’ on 25th October 2016 at the Auditorium of the Department’s Headquarters. The program aims to increase the level of skills and knowledge as well to expose the staff and public on issues related to wildlife. This time, the participants were given the opportunity to hear about the history of the Department in the efforts of wildlife conservation in Peninsular Malaysia. The guest speakers were former PERHILITAN officials such as our first former Director General, Mr. Mohd Khan Momin Khan, both Former Deputy Director General, Haji Jasmi bin Haji Abdul and Dato' Dr. Zaaba bin Zainol Abidin and former officer, Prof. Dato' Dr. Mohd Tajuddin bin Abdullah. The question and answer sessions and panel was facilitated by Mr. Ahmad Azhar bin Mohamed, Head of the National Wildlife Rescue Centre, Sungkai, Perak. A total of 150 participants comprising staff of the Department and other agencies attended this program.
