Executive Talk: Combating Wildlife Crime

On 1 September 2016 (Thursday), the Department of Wildlife and National Parks (PERHILITAN) Peninsular Malaysia organized a program entitled ‘Executive Talk: Combating Wildlife Crime’ at Hotel Bangi-Putrajaya.
The program was officiated by Dr Pazil Abdul Patah, Director of the Biodiversity Conservation Division. A total of five (5) speakers from various fields have been invited to share their findings and experiences on wildlife crime.
The Closing Ceremony was inaugurated by Mr. Fakhrul Hatta Musa, Deputy Director-General I. Also present was Dr Pan Khang Aun, the National Project Manager for ICCFS Project.
There were a total of 113 participants from various government agencies, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and private companies attended this program.
PERHILITAN, as the secretariat to the Technical Committee on Wildlife Conservation under Project UNDP IC-CFS Improving Connectivity in the Central Forest Spine Landscape, organized this program in order to keep legal practitioners, enforcement agencies, non-governmental agencies and private companies in the loop regarding wildlife crime issues.
