Official Visit And Opening Ceremony Of National Wildlife Forensic Laboratory By YB Dato Sri Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi Bin Tuanku Jaafar, Minister Of Natural Resources And Environment
The Department of Wildlife and National Parks (PERHILITAN) Peninsular Malaysia received official visit by YB Dato Sri Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi Bin Tuanku Jaafar, Minister Of Natural Resources and Environment (NRE) to PERHILITAN Headquarters on 26 July 2016. This was the first official visit by YB Dato Sri to PERHILITAN Headquarters since his appointment as Minister of Natural Resources and Environment.
His arrival was welcomed by Ministry’s Senior Officers and Department’s personnel. A briefing session on the Department was then delivered by YBhg Dato’ Abd Rasid Samsudin, PERHILITAN Director-General before visiting the exhibition booth.
In conjuction with this visit, an opening ceremony of National Wildlife Forensic Laboratory by YB Dato Sri was also held. He was also brought to see seized turtles by the Department on 25 July 2016.
National Wildlife Forensic Laboratory was completed in November 2015. With the establishment of this facility, handling capacity of wildlife forensic cases can be increased, hence increasing the success rate in combating wildlife crime.
