  FAUNA BIODIVERSITY TECHNICAL COMMITTEE

On 13th January 2005, the fourth National Biodiversity and Biotechnology Council (MBBN) meeting agreed to form two committees to manage national biodiversity, namely:
i.
National Biodiversity Inventory Committee/ Jawatankuasa Kebangsaan Inventori Biodiversiti – Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (Chairperson)
ii.
National Biotechnology Committee/Jawatankuasa Kebangsaan Bioteknologi – Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (Chairperson)
 
The National Biodiversity Inventory Committee meeting agreed to form two committees, namely:
i. Terrestrial Biodiversity Technical Committee/Jawatankuasa Teknikal Biodiversiti Terestrial (JKTBT) – headed by FRIM
ii. Marine Biodiversity Technical Committee/Jawatankuasa Teknikal Biodiversiti Marin (JKTIM) – headed by Marine Parks Section, NRE
 
For the JKTBT, the committee agreed to appoint FRIM as the chairperson of Flora Biodiversity Technical Committee (JKTBFlora) and Department of Wildlife and National Parks as the chairperson of Fauna Biodiversity Technical Committee (JKTBFauna). Both committees are under the JKTBT.
