INVENTORY
Biodiversity inventory programme
is conducted with the main aim of collecting data
on the fauna biodiversity of Peninsular Malaysia.
The programme also enables the DWNP to detect
encroachments into protected areas.
Forty
wildlife inventory programmes were conducted in
national parks, wildlife reserves/sanctuaries, forest
reserves as well as state parks between 1990 and
2007. Inventories were conducted between 1-5 year
intervals in key conservation areas such as national
parks and wildlife reserves.
