Monitoring
and assessment of all areas that will be developed
in Peninsular Malaysia has been conducted. Maintenance
of the database on wildlife species of Peninsular
Malaysia from 1980's are being updated.
Biodiversity
inventory and enforcement programmes have been done
at Package 6 Alignment (highway from Aring, Gua
Musang in Kelantan to Pasir Pulau, Gawi in Terengganu).
These resulted in the construction of 3 wildlife
viaducts; the first of its kind in South East Asia,
and will function as a wildlife crossing, especially
large mammals such as the elephant, sun bear, tiger,
tapir and gaur.
