To all clients of the Department:
1) This is to inform that any person conducting activities under Section 12 Act 686 such as:
a) having in his/her possession or under control;
b) sells, offers or exposes or advertizes for sale; or
c) displays to the public
Any scheduled species listed under Act 686 which has been imported in accordance to Section 10 of the Act, is required to:
i) Provide a copy of the Import Permit (photostat copy) to the person(s) involved in the above activities.
Please be informed that item (i) is only applicable to species that are not listed under the Protection of Wildlife Act 1972 (Act 76).
2) The issuance of the Special Permission Letter will cease with immediate effect. The possession of species listed under Act 686 is legal with a copy of the import permit (Photostat copy) for those who are not the original importer. However, the original importer must retain the copy of the blue import permit marked “Applicant file copy”.
3) As a summary, the documents that need to be retained are as follows:
